First Eucharist This sacrament is a celebration of the eternal promise Christ made to always be with us and of Christ sacrifice for us. The celebration of the Holy Eucharist is a reminder of the Last Supper. The bread and wine of the meal become Jesus’ Body and Blood during the Mass. The First Eucharist is special because it is the first time that students will receive Christ physically into their bodies. Throughout the year leading up to First Eucharist, students will learn of Christ’s presence in the Eucharist through Faith Sharing Centers, lessons, activities, and stories of Saints. All students receiving this sacrament must be baptized and have received First Reconciliation completed. Any adult wishing to receive this sacrament, please call the Faith Formation office or see the RCIA section. Call the Faith Formation office with any questions at (507) 289-2427. *First Eucharist weekend will be April 25 and 26, 2009. |
